    Description

    1851 Civil War Soldier's Bible. Published by American Bible Society, New York. Complete as published.  Black leather binding with gold gilt. Binding worn on edges and in center binding area. Family history inscribed inside the Bible "Mary A McClain".  In Document Bible Box. Bible Size: 5 1/4" x 8" x 2 1/4" thick. See pictures.
    The Document Bible Box has brass studs with initials "S T" on it. Has a metal clasp. black cloth covering with red accent cloth with brass studs. Leather cover rope handle. Metal lock mechanism. Inside has green paper covering.
