    Description

    The words to a Civil War song titled 'The Rally Cry of Freedom'  that was to be sung to the music of the well-known Civil War song 'The Battle Cry of Freedom' by George F. Root. Complete. Printed on a single folded sheet making 4 pages, but the last three pages are blank. Approximately 8 by 5 inches closed. In excellent original undamaged condition.
    The Philadelphia publisher, James Magee, was also probably the artist and the printer. The words are printed in red, and the illustration and borders are printed in red and blue. The small illustration at the top shows a Civil War battle in progress. A line at the bottom reports that Magee copyrighted it in 1864.
