  • Condition: No chips, cracks, or crazing. The top right and the first corner on the right from the top are missing some of the blue transfer color. The front has a metallic brown mark within the outer border near the lower right corner. There are a few pin head size metallic brown spots and tiny pitting marks under the glaze on the back.     Description

    Copeland Spode Blue Italian Octagonal 8" Plate.
    Well known design referred to as "Italian" scenery center.
    The 'corners' are slightly rounded and some of the blue marks the side edges.
    The back is marked in Blue within a Blue Oval shape:
    "COPELAND SPODE'S ITALIAN ENGLAND" and the number "19"
    It is also incised with "COPELAND" in a semi circle above an incised Crown symbol image; along with the letter "A" over the numbers "25".  This dates the plate to April, 1925.
    The number 4 at the end of the title is for my reference to identify this plate from others.
