CIVIL WAR? - CULPEPER Va - Brass Plate Embossed “Silvertone” - Instrument ID?

Fun miscellaneous relic dug at a CIVIL WAR site in culpeper Virginia! I’m not sure what this is, but I believe it’s from an instrument. I cannot guarantee that it is Civil War but it was dug at a Civil War site. Really cool dug relic that would display nicely! Almost looks like a civil war belt buckle plate but I do not believe this is one. Have fun researching!
Quality of Relic - It has corrosion, bends, and some original Culpeper dirt! Please closely view photographs for condition and quality. You be the judge. It is likely post war but I am unsure.
