    CIVIL WAR ERA BRASS SWORD SCABBARD W/ ENGRAVINGS -FOUND ROULETTE FARM -ANTIETAM - FARM IS BESIDE THE FAMOUS  SUNKEN ROAD KNOWN AS BLOODY LANE IN THE CENTER OF THE ANTIETAM BATTLEFIELD - SCABBARD MEASURES 21 1/4" LONG - HAS TWO BRASS HANGER RING - THE SCABBARD HAS A NUMBER OF ENGRAVED PATTERNS AROUND THE HANGER BANDS AND FROG STUD - SEE PHOTOS - ON THE AFTERNOON OF SEPT 17TH - 1862 THE ROULETTE FARM BECAME THE CENTER OF ATTENTION FOR BOTH ARMIES - AFTER THE HEAVY FIGHTING AROUND THE WEST WOODS - DUNKER CHURCH AND IN THE CORNFIELD HAD PRODUCED NO RESULTS FOR EITHER ARMY - THE UNION STARTED TO MOVE FORCES FORWARD IN THE CENTER THROUGH A FIELD OF CORN ON THE ROULETTE FARM TOWARD A SUNKEN ROAD USED TO HAUL FARM GOODS TO MARKET- THE ANCIENT PATH PROVIDED COVER FOR CONFEDERATE SOLDIERS WAITING FOR THE UNION IRISH BRIGADE AND OTHERS TO CLOSE TO POINT BLANK TARGET - THE UNION SOLDIERS HAD NO IDEA WHAT WAS AHEAD BECAUSE OF THE TALL CORN - THEY SUFFERED VERY HEAVY CASUALTIES IN REPEATED FRONTAL ATTACKS - THE FARM AND IT'S BUILDINGS WERE ALSO USED AS A FIELD HOSPITAL - EARLY AFTER THE BATTLE KEEPSAKE - SEE PHOTOS FOR MORE DETAILS - GREAT COLLECTIBLE
