    Description

Civil War Era Traveling inkwell of Rosewood or Lignum Vitae.
Carried in the haversack of every literate soldier on both sides for writing letters home while campaigning in the field or in muddy winter encampments. This one 2 inches tall and just over 1inch in diameter.
Has the glass ink bottle inside with spring to hold the bottle tight against the lid to prevent ink from leaking. Top screws on, threads good.
The lid has an age crack but screws on perfectly.
These are getting harder and harder to find.
U.S. sales only. THANKS FOR LOOKING AND GOOD LUCK
