    Description

Offered in this 10-Day Auction is a Civil War Period Eley Bros. Percussion Cap Tin & Caps.  Retains paper label and 50 unfired caps.  The japanned tin container is in good shape overall, closes tightly.  There are scratches to the body to be expected from age and use.  This percussion cap tin is from the collection of the late Dr. Francis A. Lord.
    Measures 1 1/4", 1 1/2" diameter.
This Percussion Cap Tin and Caps are being offered as part of a sale of the collaborative collection of Dr. Francis Lord and Tom Burbage (pictured together w/ item photos).  Dr. Lord bequeathed many of these items upon his passing to his best friend and fellow military antiques enthusiast, Tom Burbage.  Over the next year or more, I will be listing these items for sale, primarily as auction listings on ebay.  There are hundreds of items ranging in date from the Revolutionary War thru WWII.  Many of these items are from the personal collections of Dr. Lord and Tom Burbage.  Some of them are items retaining original price tags from Dr. Lord's final sale displays at Civil War shows throughout the country.  Besides being a collector of Civil War items, Dr. Lord published 4 volumes of Civil War Encyclopedias that became the gold standard for collecting and gave many a young collector, myself included, a start in learning the artifacts "industry".  It is with humble honor that I offer these artifacts for sale on behalf of Tom Burbage.  I also sell artifacts of my own finding on ebay as "defence1st".  I thank my Dad, Wayne Fritts, ebay seller "americancolonial" for his help researching these items and also for the start he gave me in appreciating our veterans and collecting military artifacts some 30+ years ago.  Between us, we have over 6,000 positive feedbacks on ebay.
Thank you for your interest! No reserve.
