    Description

    This is a pretty decent breast plate identified as dug on the South Mountain Battlefield.  Seems to be all there even with the dirt.  Purchased long ago from digger.  The plate has a hole in the middle from being attached to a relic board of the Antietam Campaign.  Also has a piece of velcro.  The digger marked the back SM 8 for South Mountain.  No idea about the 8.  I can't make out the top writing as a small piece of lead is missing. A cool relic likely from one of the Union casualties.
