Description
COBBS LEGION CAVALRY ARTIFACTS, BATTLE OF BRANDY STATION, VIRGINIA, JUNE,1863This set of Confederate Cobb’s(Georgia) Legion cavalry artifacts were found at the Cobb’s Legion’s position & are from the Battle of Brandy Station Virginia, fought on June 9, 1863.They were found at the intersection of (modern day) Rt. 676 & Beverly Ford Road in the 1950’s by a local historian.
This set consists of the following artifacts:
Pre Civil War Georgia coat size (7/8") gold guilt officers state coat button, (damaged on face).
It
still having some of the gold guilt remaining but has a dent in the middle with the shank on the back folded over but intact & the back marks

McClellan enlistedman's
saddle shield with 11 inch saddle on face, a very rare size.
It is 2" x 1 1/2" & has the edge fold over on the right top corner & damage to the top left.
They are in good, as found, uncleaned excavated condition.
It was in a small local museum on the farm where they were found in the 1950’s & was bought directly from the family &
comes with a certificate of authenticity with historical research.
