    Description

    A beautiful piece of an original Confederate history. This is a receipt for 146 pounds of beacon. Signed by two different individuals. The purchasing order signature is hard to make out but it looks to me that it was a Commanding General, which makes sense if Mr Beatie was recieving this order of 146 pounds of Beacon, I would imagine for the troops.
    A very interesting piece of original Civil War history, I'd even call it a museum piece. I have taken some close up scans of the signature of the ordering Individual,  now someone who knows the Civil War 'well' could probably figure out who the signature is, it kind of looks like S. E Ficking May. ? just a guess and speculation.  A unique piece never the less.
