    Here's a super nice officer's silver regimental hat number dug on private land near Laurel Hill at the battlefield of Spotsylvania Courthouse, Va. It's in virtually perfect condition on both sides, sans a little of the sacred soil. It has it's two silver attachment wires still strongly hooked on the back. These small numbers were worn by officers, and silver ones were privately purchased, and quite scarce. All hat numbers are scarce...silver ones are rare. This is an awesome addition to your insignia or relic collection. Plmk if I can provide any further info or photos.
