The following item is a grouping of hand made spikes and nails used to build a barn in the Summer of 1863. This barn was about 80 away from Gettysburg in Pennsylvania. It had been passed down through the family that the men building the barn could hear the ferocious firing of the cannons during the battle. The barn burned down in the 1980's. This set from the barn consists of 6 large 4" spikes, 8 3" nails, 12 1.25" nails and 1 1.75" nail. There are 27 of these hand made nails from this barn built while The battle of Gettysburg raged on miles away.
