Beautiful identified Civil War field made carved cattle bone neckerchief slide. This inscribed Union relic was part of the Norm Flayderman collection and has his identification mark on the reverse. This beautiful heart shaped neckerchief slide is incised with two 5-point stars above K W 184 Reg Co E. It also has a lovely scrimshawed vertical anchor and an exterior border. This neckerchief slide was worn by Kellogg West, Company E, of the 184th Regiment New York infantry. The information and designs are infilled with period red wax, which shows loss. The reverse has a perfect carved slide. The whole piece has wonderful carving marks and a great well worn patina. It measures 1 11/16" x 1 9/16" x 9/16" in size. It is a great identified New York relic for your collection. The pictures are accurate as to its condition.
