Large brass hand made heel plate- Found Ft Craig New Mexico in 1960's

Check my other auctions for more dug relics from New Mexico.  This was part of a large collection accumulated by a man (now deceased) who used to metal detect around Fort Craig NM (1854-1888) in the 1950's-1960's. Probably a hand made heel plate.  Dug condition-dark patina. Made of heavy brass. Measures approx. 2" tall x 2 5/8" wide.
