BATTLE OF NASHVILLE TN - A CIVIL WAR SOLDIER'S BROGAN  Bootee Shoe Leather Fragment of layered sole Section with wooden pegs and stitch holes present - Recovered in the 1990s during Construction of the Titan's Nissan Stadium
A Dug Relic Bootee Brogan Shoe Leather Fragment of layered sole Section with wooden pegs. The Stitch/Peg holes are very prominent on these pieces. This artifact measures about 4 1/4" by 2 3/4" by 1/4" thick and weighs about 1 ounce.
Nashville Tennessee Recovered Soldier's 1851 Pattern Jefferson Bootee (most likely) also known as 'Brogans' (20th century reenactorism) Shoe Leather Fragment section of Sole.  It was recovered in the 1990s during the construction of the new football stadium of the Tennessee Titans (Nissan Stadium) in Nashville. Many other brogan pieces were recovered so whether this was a storage site or a dump site (probably from the Union occupation of the city) is unknown. The last image shows the heel fragment along with several other sections (not included) which were recovered from the same location. A provenance letter will be included.
