ORIGINAL CW PERIOD PATRIOTIC FOLDING SHAVING MIRROR

Description

This is an original soldier's zinc folding shaving mirror.  It has a patriotic spread winged eagle motif.  The case has its original mirror inside still intact.  The back has an embossed cartouche which has the initials BC and the date 1844.  My assumption is that it is a  manufacturers mark.  Mirror has its original hanging ring and a brace to allow the mirror to be propped open on a flat surface.  Mirror case is 3" in diameter.  There is no damage, breaks or cracks.  This one is in really nice condition.  This is a very scarce example of this type of folding pocket mirror.  See photos for best idea of item and condition.  Questions welcomed.
