    Description

    Captain Thomas Payne of the Steam Tug "AID" based in Wilmington, North Carolina, issued a list of provisions on Sept. 1, 1859. Original handwritten list.  The list is comprised of foodstuffs and rations such as Salmon, ketchup, sugar, coffee, salt, pepper, Scotch Ale Mix, Cayenne Pepper, hams, mustard, pickles, and a barrel of Pilot bread.  Included with the original document is a descriptive text that was utilized in the former display of the item in a  Museum.
    The original document is complete but in pieces where it was originally folded.
