Robert E. Lee Memorial Engraved Portrait C. 1870. Inscription reading "Sold by Authority of the Lee Memorial Association for the erection of a monument at the tomb of Genl. R. E. Lee at the Washington & Lee University, Lexington, Virginia. Entered into an Act of Congress in the year 1870 by Bradley & Co. in the office of the library of Congress at Washington. W.W. Bostwick & Co. 177 & 179 W. 4th St. Cincinnati, O. General Agents for Lee Memorial Association." Facsimile signatures include " R. E. Lee, Genl., Chas. A. Davidson,and Sec., Genl. W. Pendleton, Chairman." Engraving measures 22" x 18". Engraving has a line across the bottom from improper storage. It has not been folded. There is a small watermark on the right hand side of the engraving which a frame would cover.
Engraving is not framed.
Engraving is in overall great condition for the age.
