    Description

This is a tin cooking pot from the Civil War era.
It has the lid, which is often missing.
It would have been used by soldiers in camp to heat up beans or other staples.
It has a crimped side seam, top rim and bottom.  The wire handle is attached via two  hooks in the crimped top rim, and the loop on the pot lid is attached via a folded piece of tin.  There is light surface rust throughout, as expected.
The pot is 3¼ inches high, with the lid adding another ½ inch.  It is just under 4 inches in diameter.
This tin cooking pot is from a longtime collector's Civil War camp display.
A very nice cooking pot for your Civil War soldier's or camp display!
