STATLER HOTEL WATER CARAFE GLASS SILVERPLATE ORNATE

Up for auction is this stunning piece of hotel memorabilia! This is a water carafe made for the Statler Hotels Company.
The Statler Company ceased to exist in 1954 when it was bought by Conrad Hilton in the largest real estate transaction in history to that time. This is a great piece from the more elegant time of hotels.
There is a screw at the neck and another at the base where this could be disassembled for cleaning. There is a Statler monogram on the lid, and the large engraved monogram "S" on the glass pitcher body.  The bands at the foot and neck are highly decorated with garlands consisting of urns and flowers.
No makers mark that I can see.
The piece is in overall very good condition and stands 10” tall.  Only detraction I can see are tiny scratch marks inside the lid as shown.   There are signs of old silver polish residue on the glass and silverplate that wiped right off when I rubbed them.
According to Worthpoint, the last one of these that was listed on eBay brought 9 back in 2012, and it had a chip on the glass.
