Based on our research, this item was produced by a company run by Nathan Straus, a well known New York City retailer, manufacturer and importer of houseware and glassware. The mark - "Nathan Straus & Sons" is believed to have been used from 1924 - the year Mr. Straus assumed ownership of the business. He died in 1931. A fairly rare souvenir from one of the former great hotels of the world. The Hotel Astor closed its doors in 1967.
