    Description

    Vintage1927 FADA SPECIAL 265A Tube Coffin Radio
    With all tubes, two extra tubes, and headphone parts.
    This old Fada radio was a battery set with original wiring that would connect to the batteries.  Without the proper power supply, it cannot be tested.
    The leftmost tuning capacitor is frozen and will not turn.  The two right tuning caps do turn by hand.  Both front dials spin freely, not affecting the tuners inside.  They look to be missing cover pieces. The on/off/volume knob turns freely.
    Both white dials are in good condition with some wear.
    The inside of the cabinet is clean and doesn't appear to be missing any parts.  All tubes look original.  It includes two extra tubes, both are CX-301-A.
    There is a long cardboard card indicating battery hookups which is not attached to the cabinet.
    Included also is a long cloth-covered wire, which could have been used for either ground or to the antenna.
    There is also an original pair of headphones, but they are in pieces and do not have a head strap.  One headphone has a round screw-on cover (that does not stay screwed on) and the other is missing the cover.
    Overall the radio cabinet is in very good condition, and could use some minor refinishing, especially the top.
    Cabinet measures
    20 1/2" x 13 3/4" x 11".  It weighs 30 pounds.
